Periphagen is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of herpes simplex virus type I (HSV-1) as a gene therapy vector. Our primary focus is the development of non-toxic high capacity HSV-1 vectors for the treatment of diseases where an expansive DNA capacity is required for very large genes, multiple genes, or constructs that require complex combinations of genes, promoters, and/or other effectors.
ABOUT US
We have been developing HSV-1 vectors for more than 25 years and are pioneers in the field of clinical development of replication defective HSV-1 vectors given that we were the first company to run clinical trials using replication defective HSV-1 vectors in humans.

We have also developed two families of replication defective HSV-1 vectors as well as
complementing cell lines that are stable, highly
productive, and adapted to serum free media.
We believe that engineering the best cell lines, vectors, and production methods before the development of singular products allows us the ability to rapidly generate complex vectors
for many disease and tissue targets.
